Case Study 01 — Full Movement Service

The Challenge

A 1990s Rolex Datejust that had not been serviced in over 12 years. The owner noticed it losing about 30 seconds per day and the date was not changing cleanly at midnight. The winding felt rougher than it used to.

Our Approach

Full disassembly revealed dried lubricants, worn click spring, and a degraded datewheel jumper. All components were cleaned ultrasonically, worn parts replaced, and the Cal. 3135 was reassembled with fresh Moebius lubricants. Regulation followed across six positions.

The Outcome

The Datejust now runs at +2 seconds per day in the dial-up position. Date changes crisply at midnight. Winding action is smooth again. The owner was provided timing machine printouts to verify the results. Total time: 16 working days.

Case Study 02 — Crown & Stem + Cosmetic Detailing

The Challenge

A Citizen Promaster diver used daily by a recreational swimmer. The crown had become difficult to pull out and the watch was fogging up under the crystal — signs that the crown tube seal had failed. The case also had accumulated scratches from regular wear.

Our Approach

We replaced the crown, stem, and crown tube gasket with compatible parts. The case and bracelet went through ultrasonic cleaning and light polish to remove surface marks. After reassembly, the watch was pressure-tested to verify water resistance at its rated depth.

The Outcome

Crown action restored to factory-like feel. No more fogging. The pressure test confirmed water resistance at 200m. The case looked noticeably cleaner and more presentable. The client now brings all his watches here. Total time: 8 working days.

Case Study 03 — Cosmetic Detailing

Our Approach

We removed the bracelet for individual ultrasonic cleaning, polished the acrylic crystal using graduated compounds to restore clarity, and addressed the case surfaces with fine abrasives appropriate for the finish type. External seals were inspected throughout.

The Outcome

Crystal restored to near-new clarity. Case and bracelet cleaned and refreshed with no sharp edges or over-polishing. The owner was pleased enough that he wore it to the event that same evening. Total time: 1 working day.
